Liz Hamlet, Founder, Spark Succeed Coaching & Consulting

London-based Liz Hamlet speaks to The Industry Leaders about how her work and what she's learned on her entrepreneurial journey.

What's Your Story?

Based in London, I'm an internationally known Coach, Mentor, Speaker and Podcaster.

Having met so many leaders and business owners lacking motivation and inspiration, and unsure of which step to take next in their leadership career or business, I founded Spark Succeed Coaching & Consulting to help leaders to lead better & leverage their success to spark possibility, motivation and momentum.

I speak at events and global communities on success, entrepreneurship, leadership, mindset and the power of finding your true calling.

My special talent? - helping you uncover your leadership superpower.

Lover of all things leadership - I host the How to Spark Success podcast - where we get to eavesdrop and steal some of the success secrets of Global leaders.

You can travel back in time to Day 1 of your business or career - what advice would you give to younger-you, knowing what you know now?

It's something I say all the time to the University students I mentor, but it was equally true for the Younger me...

... Your first job needn't be your final career!

When we leave school, uni or are job searching - we put so much pressure on ourselves to find that perfect first job.

Yet it's near on impossible to know how we will find a role or industry until we've tried it. And our values and priorities change as we progress through our careers.

During my own career, I've moved through the ranks up to senior leadership and Board roles spanning travel, investment banking, housing and now running my own business. What I learned in that journey - the transferable skills, my confidence in leading departments, my flexibility, and my inquisitiveness - have all led me to where I am today. And I wouldn't change a thing.

So enjoy the journey and take the learning!

What one book or podcast changed your life?

I'd have to be cheeky and say my own podcast - How to Spark Success!

It was a dream of mine to have my own podcast (I'm a huge fan of podcasts such as The Secret Diary of a CEO) and during lockdown I thought... Why wait? Why not now?

52 episodes and counting later, it's been a steep learning curve but I would recommend it to anyone wanting to establish themselves as a thought leader and to find another way to promote themselves and their business to new audiences. I constantly get people contacting me to say how they've been inspired by the conversations on the show and I'm in demand as a show host for inspirational guests and a podcast guest myself.

I'm an inquisitive soul and I love the opportunity it provides me to speak to Global Leaders and share some of their success secrets. I learn so much during each conversation!
