Charlotte Carter, Charlotte Carter Coaching

After attending a women's running club in 2019, Charlotte Carter's outlook on life changed. Now, as a Coach and the Founder of her own business, Charlotte helps empower other women to make positive changes in their lives.

How did you end up sitting where you are today?

After 20 years working in the world of personal development, I had an 'aha' moment of my own. I realised I was living other peoples' version of success; I was following the trend and searching and searching for happiness and fulfilment externally when it was already inside.

It all changed on 2nd April 2019. I went along to an all-women running group meeting who were setting up a group in my home town. It was the first time in such a long time that I was doing something for myself. I didn't know what to wear, what to say and how to show up. I knew that day my life was changing.

Since then, I added more qualifications to my toolkit and did my own deep inner work, and now I empower women to live a limitless life with confidence, happiness, and ease.

What kind of work does your role involve?

My role involves working with ambitious female entrepreneurs looking to get out of their own way and uplevel their business and their life with ease.

We work through my Mindset for Success Signature System, which incorporates mindset, energy and action. I work with them from the inside out to explore, resolve and transform their thinking so that they can become limitless in their desires and actions.

What gets you excited about your industry?

The changes that people can make to their own lives and those around them within a short period is just phenomenal. I love the fact that one thought can change your life and that you can continue to grow and evolve every single day.

What's the best advice anyone ever gave you?

Stay in your own lane.

It's so true as it allows you to be laser-focused, be driven and achieve growth quickly and in a way that is true to you.

What, or who inspires you?

Brene Brown, Esther Hicks, Bob Proctor

My own coaches Lisa Johnson, Jade Jemma and Nick Pidgeon

All my clients who step out of their comfort zone place their trust in me and achieve remarkable life-changing results.

Finally, my children, Josh and Izzy, teach me what life is truly about, and I am so grateful to them.

How do you keep up to speed with what's happening in your industry?

I invest in coaches who are at the top of their game and learn from them. I am in my second mastermind as these are such a fabulous way of surrounding yourself with successful, driven people. I outsource research to my team and show up for my audience to deliver them value. I ask them what would support them, and we go on the journey together.

What was the most challenging project or situation you've overcome?

The most challenging project was a client I worked with who suffered from an eating disorder for 26 years. She had not told anyone about it, and it was such an ingrained part of her life and identity.

We worked together to unpick the stories from her subconscious mind, and layer by layer, we uncovered her truth. We then rewired her thinking with empowering thoughts and beliefs, and together we overcame it. She now lives a life free of this condition and full of happiness and confidence.

Whilst I work on high performance now, I am forever grateful for all she taught me and how that one client embedded my self-belief that I can help anyone if they are ready to help themselves.

You finish work today and step outside the office to find a lottery ticket that ends up winning $10 million. What would you do?

Give some to the wonderfully run charity ICANRUN that changed my life.

Invest in some property to hold retreats all over the world

Set up my own charity to empower young women to be whoever they want to be

Keep doing what I am doing.

How do you switch off after a day at work?

I exercise, meditate and learn.

If you had one wish for the future of your industry, what would it be?

That those who truly want to change will find themselves the right coach who will support, encourage and guide them to live their own version of success.

What book or podcast should everyone know about?

The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks.
